After Kayla graduated from college, she moved back home to keep working at her internship and start applying for full-time jobs. To make some extra money, she picked up a part-time waitressing job at Fitz’s on the Lake—which just so happened to be the same restaurant Chris lived down the street from. Chris was spending his summer and weekends serving there while finishing his final year of school.

There was an instant crush (and yes, Chris was a little bummed he didn’t get to train the new waitress 😅). After a summer full of flirting—and lots of hangman games between tables—Chris finally asked Kayla out.

The rest is history! We've been living together in Waunakee for the past three years with our dog, Finn.
